Elizabeth (Lizzie) works closely with Vanessa, managing her networks, development priorities and meeting preparation and research. She serves as a liaison between the CEO's office and the full organization, coordinating appropriate resources and staff to execute on various projects and emerging opportunities.
The creation of community is what makes Lizzie tick – building it, sustaining it, making it healthy and safe. Lizzie firmly believes that it is our job as humans to create communities in which we all can thrive and live productive lives. This belief attracted her to New Profit, a powerful community within itself.
Prior to joining New Profit, Lizzie was a consultant at Development Guild DDI, a management consulting firm that works with nonprofit clients on fundraising strategy and executive search. She served as project manager on a variety of engagements, including fundraising assessments, capital campaign counsel, and recruitment of top-level development professionals. Some of her favorite clients were Boston Children’s Hospital, Facing History and Ourselves, Pathfinder International, Samaritans of Boston, and Union of Concerned Scientists.
Lizzie loves to cook, and one of her favorite activities is sharing meals with friends and family. She’s also an avid reader and enjoys traveling: South Africa is her favorite destination to date. While studying there, she learned the most about the importance of community – through the South African philosophy of “ubuntu,” which roughly translates to “I am who I am because of who we all are.”
Lizzie received her B.A. in Psychology from Connecticut College.
