Janine Kwoh

Associate Partner, Portfolio Performance & Support

As an Associate Partner on the Portfolio Performance & Support team, Janine oversees our efforts to assess and report on the progress and performance of individual organizations and our overall portfolio. She is also focused on designing and driving New Profit's efforts to further increase the consistency and quality of the support provided to portfolio organizations.

Janine grew up in Shanghai’s expatriate community, where she learned to navigate and treasure the interactions among assorted individuals, communities, and cultures. She was drawn to New Profit’s people- and impact- oriented approach to supporting social entrepreneurs and their organizations, as she believes that that continuous innovation and cross-sector collaboration are critical to sustained social change.

Janine joined New Profit from Cambridge Associates, an investment consulting firm serving primarily nonprofit institutions, where she held the role of Senior Research Associate. There, she was part of a team responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and conducting due diligence on private equity investment opportunities. Janine received a B.A. from Brown University with a degree in commerce, organizations, and entrepreneurship, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Outside the office, Janine enjoys jogging along the Charles River, perusing used thrift stores, and having picnics around the city. She also has her own hand-printed greeting card business, Kwohtations, which celebrates the diversity and absurdity of life. She is a proficient Mandarin speaker, a skill she mostly uses to order food in Chinatown.
