Jessica Crawford is the Director, Coalition Engagement and Communications, America Forward, where she is responsible for developing and executing America Forward’s strategy for creating, maintaining, and expanding key external and internal relationships that support and accelerate America Forward’s policy priorities.
Jessica believes that all people, regardless of their abilities or background should have access to education and workforce opportunities that enable them to lead a successful life. She is dedicated to working with the America Forward Coalition and New Profit Focus Funds to promote partnerships and develop and advance policies to address some of our nation’s greatest challenges.
Prior to joining the America Forward team, Jessica served as a Director of Government Relations at Van Scoyoc Associates, a full-service Federal Government affairs firm, where she worked on behalf of clients in the areas of education, workforce, financial service, health care, and transportation. Jessica also spent nearly a decade working in the U.S. House of Representatives. She served as a Legislative Assistant and Staff Liaison to the House Education and the Workforce Committee for Rep. Michael N. Castle, on education and workforce matters before the House Committee and worked for the House Committee on Education and the Workforce under the leadership of current Speaker of the House, John Boehner and Rep. Howard P. “Buck” McKeon. Jessica assisted with matters before the Committee, including the reauthorization of the Head Start Act, the Child Nutrition Act, and the Higher Education Act, as well as efforts to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Jessica also served as the Legislative Correspondent to Rep. Jim Greenwood.
Jessica received her Bachelor of Arts from The George Washington University and her Master of Arts Degree in Communications from Johns Hopkins University. She lives in Silver Spring with her husband and their daughter.
