Mary Curran

Senior Development Associate, Early Learning, Reimagine Learning

As Senior Associate of Development, Mary leverages existing partnerships, cultivates new relationships, and strategizes on the development of New Profit’s Early Learning and Reimagine Learning Focus Funds. Through project management and donor cultivation and stewardship, Mary contributes to the ambitious scaling goals of these two funds.

Mary has a deep appreciation for the power of advocacy as a lever for social change, and was drawn to New Profit’s mission of breaking down the barriers to opportunity in America and its strategy for doing so. She is especially interested in child welfare and ensuring that all children get the chance to succeed.

Prior to joining New Profit, Mary worked as a program manager at Arabella Advisors, a philanthropic consulting firm in Washington, DC. In this role, she managed a portfolio of fiscally-sponsored social change projects, supporting the development and implementation of advocacy campaigns and lobbying activities. Mary also supported the firm’s business development efforts by meeting with prospects and helping launch and structure new projects.

Prior to joining Arabella Advisors, Mary served as a policy associate at The Sheridan Group, a Washington DC-based advocacy firm that promoted a wide range of public interest programs including education, human rights, social innovation, and child welfare advocacy. In her role as a policy associate, Mary worked closely with nonprofits to help design advocacy strategies and advocate for them on Capitol Hill and within the administration.

Mary earned a B.A. degree in Political Science and English from Canisius College. On weekends, she likes spending time with family and friends, exploring the city, and in the fall, cheering on the Buffalo Bills.
