Ruth is a Senior Associate on the development team at New Profit where she supports the fundraising strategy of New Profit’s Innovation Fund and its Reimagine School Systems focus fund.
Ruth came to New Profit from Florida Legal Services’ One Campaign where served as Director. While at the One Campaign, she helped connect pro bono legal assistance to the poor and disadvantaged in Florida by working with key stakeholders like the The Florida Bar Foundation and the state Judiciary. Through her work with One Campaign, Ruth designed and implemented the Special Immigrant Juvenile Status Project, a successful program in which Miami-Dade law firms provided legal relief to over 200 unrepresented, unaccompanied immigrant minors facing deportation. Prior to the One Campaign, Ruth was a Programme Associate in the Children and Youth Programme at Atlantic Philanthropies, where she managed the day-to-day implementation of the Programme and its grantmaking activities, contributing to $182 million in funding across 160 grants.
Ruth is a cum laude graduate of Barnard College at Columbia University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Spanish Literature.
Ruth currently lives in the South End of Boston with her wonderful husband, Porter, and their two parakeets, Pancho and Pancha.
