Laura leads New Profit's Leadership and Team Development (LTD) initiative and practice area. LTD’s purpose is to further develop the ability of New Profit's social entrepreneurs and their top teams to: drive, direct, and sustain growth; adapt swiftly and well to shifting circumstances; and strengthen relationships critical to their ability to do the above. Laura works closely with leaders and leadership teams within New Profit's portfolio in intensive, 9-12 month engagements that include team retreats, individual and group coaching, various assessment techniques and targeted interventions. Additionally, Laura serves as New Profit's internal coach, where she focuses on building a strong culture by directing organization-wide learning within the practice area, supporting the organization's diversity and inclusion efforts, and providing leadership coaching to various leaders and teams within the organization. New Profit’s approach in this area is based on 30 years of clinical research conducted by Dr. Diana McLain Smith with organizations in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

Prior to joining New Profit in 2008, Laura was a professional fundraiser and a national director specializing in investor strategy, services and stewardship in the 2008 presidential campaign, as well as part of a private consulting firm that provided top-tier political leaders, organizations and candidates with campaign and fundraising strategies.

Laura graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst where she was a David A. Booth Scholar, and a member of the ALANAI and Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Societies. She currently lives in her hometown of Quincy, MA with her husband and their two children.
