Sara is a Partner, Senior Philanthropic Advisor at New Profit, Inc. New Profit is national nonprofit venture philanthropy fund. In her role Sara oversees the fundraising strategy, works closely with the Board of Directors and thinks strategically about integration of donor engagement, communications and stewardship. Sara works closely with the Founder and CEO to cultivate and steward new and existing relationships in an effort to share the impact of New Profit with individuals and foundations.
Prior to her work at New Profit she was Director of Community & Philanthropy at Suffolk Construction. During her tenure at Suffolk, Sara led the organizational efforts for numerous philanthropic causes on behalf of the company Chairman and CEO John Fish. In her role, Sara was responsible for the strategic direction and implementation of Suffolk Cares, Suffolk’s philanthropic and community strategy. Prior to her work at Suffolk, Sara worked at Boston Children’s Hospital in a number of roles raising over $30M for the hospital and creating several new revenue streams including the Venture Philanthropy Network and Boston Investment Conference. Sara began her career at Georgetown University in the Office of Office of Alumni & University Relations and spent time working on Capitol Hill doing political fundraising.
Throughout her career Sara has worked extensively with boards and volunteers at all levels. She has set the vision and executed campaigns across a variety of non-profits in the healthcare, educational and political sectors. Sara has over 16 years of experience in corporate giving, major gifts, donor relations, high-end special events and board development. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College.
